Director of Business Development

The Director of Business Development will focus on expanding market opportunities surrounding the Evansville area, driving growth, and supporting business development efforts. This role emphasizes strategy implementation, sales growth, relationship management, and collaboration with senior leadership. The position will work closely with the Vice President of Business Development and the Senior Director of Business Development, playing a key role in achieving the company's sales and revenue goals.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop Market Expansion Strategies: Assist in the creation and execution of business development strategies focused on expanding the company’s footprint in the Evansville region.
  • Lead Sales Initiatives: Spearhead sales efforts in the region, ensuring the achievement of individual and team sales goals.
  • Cultivate Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners in the Evansville market, ensuring satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
  • Understand Client Needs: Work with clients to understand their challenges and business goals, offering tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with marketing, advocacy, and planning and grants teams to ensure a unified approach to client solutions and market strategy.
  • Present Solutions to Clients: Deliver impactful sales presentations and proposals that resonate with prospective clients, driving sales and business growth.
  • Monitor Sales Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of business development efforts.
  • Manage Sales Pipeline: Oversee the sales pipeline to ensure consistent lead generation, nurturing, and closing of deals.
  • Identify New Business Opportunities: Proactively identify new business opportunities in the Evansville market, leveraging market trends and client insights to fuel growth.
  • Report to Leadership: Regularly update leadership on progress, challenges, and market developments,ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Enhance Client Experience: Work closely with clients to ensure the delivery of high-quality service and continuous improvement of the client experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in sales or a related field.
  • Proven ability to work independently and establish clear, measurable objectives while managing a diverse workload.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing business development strategies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience in the Evansville market or similar regional markets.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Strong understanding of market trends and the ability to identify business opportunities.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights to inform decision-making.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills to effectively communicate with clients and leadership
